Cut Out #3 (50 Cents), 2005
Altered poster, mirror, custom frame with chain.

50 Cent a South Jamaica, Queens native. This piece is the third in a series of altered posters of rap artists. I cut out the image on the poster using an ex-acto blade then mount what remains onto mirrors which are then framed in custom baroque frames. It's a flip on arte povera artist Miguelangelo Pistoletto's pieces from the 1960's. This piece was also in the exhibition "Arts Reflection Has No Complection" at Artist Space in 2005.
