The work on view includes a work on paper Study for Kase Painting (Gold), a new Crate Painting (B7) and Black Book (Fate of a Gesture). Black Book (Fate Of A Gesture) 2021

Fate of a Gesture by Carter Ratcliff painted completely black using Krink ink. Krink ink is a type of ink associated with graffiti tagging. The work is also a reference to the term Black book which is a sketchbook used by graffiti writers that contains their drawings and those of others. The piece is a representation of a central aspect of my work in general which is erasure as both a conceptual and creative process. I'm excited that it will be on view at Galería Espacio Mínimo in Madrid Spain along with a few other works.

Great opening despite the heavy rain that came down. So happy to see my work in great company and all the friends that came through. Much love to all! The exhibition in Chelsea is on view through August 14th. The second part of the exhibition takes place in their upstate Germantown location which opens to the public today with an official opening from 4-6pm on July 4th. Road trip anyone! Century House Historical Society

Recently I had the opportunity to make only my second outdoor sculpture. It's in an exhibition titled "Excavate" at the Century House Historical Society in Rosendale, New York. I decided to title the piece after the show since it's made as a site specific piece for the location. I'm very happy with the way the piece turned out. It's lead me to have ideas for future pieces. Century house is part of the Old Jane Mine on the Snyder Estate. It's an old mine that produced most of the cement in New York such as the Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty. The show will be up for about 3 months.
